जावेद जाँनिसार अख़्तर का नाम देश का बहुत ही जाना-पहचाना नाम हैं। जावेद अख्तर शायर, फिल्मों के गीतकार और पटकथा लेखक तो हैं ही, सामाजिक कार्यकर्त्ता के रूप में भी एक प्रसिद्ध हस्ती हैं। वह एक ऐसे परिवार के सदस्य हैं जिसके ज़िक्र के बिना उर्दु साहित्य का इतिहास अधुरा रह जायगा। शायरी तो पीढियों से उनके खून में दौड़ रही है।

Ram Prasad Bismil-Indian Republic Day special

Ram Prasad Bismil was an Indian revolutionary who participated in Manipuri conspiracy of 1918, and the Kakori Conspiracy of 1925, and struggled against British Imperialism.As well as being a freedom fighter, he was a patriotic poet and wrote in Hindi and Urdu using the pen names Ram, Agyat and Bismil. But, he became popular with the last name "Bismil" only.
Sarfaroshi ki Tamanna is a patriotic poem written by Ram Prasad Bismil
The poem was written as an ode to young freedom fighters of the Indian independence movement.It has also been associated with the younger generation of inter-war freedom fighters such as Ashfaqullah Khan, Bhagat Singh and Chandrashekhar Azad.

Raghupati Sahay, better known under his pen name Firaq Gorakhpuri, was a writer, critic, and one of the most noted contemporary Urdu poets from India.
In his autobiography Yaadon ki baraat, the poet Josh Malihabadi wrote that after MIR and GHALB Firaq is the greatest Urdu poet of India.
